I have Thunderbird 0.9.... well...just downloaded and installed it. When I set it up I hadn't a clue about Global this or that. Anyway... I can send and receive mail so I guess things are okay. BUT... it doesn't look like it did before. Why? Well... I have a Local Folders with an Inbox, UnSent, Drafts, Sent and Trash box and that is it. There is no mention of my ISP which I had before (i.e. pacifier.mail.com) along with the above boxes and also including the Local Folders and the same boxes.

I'm not sure what the advantage is to having both as I did before and now only having the local folders. Is there? Did I do something wrong?

What about Spam? Isn't there supposed to be some box or did I just imagine that? Thanks.

    James,

By using the Global setting, you have elected to have all incoming POP incoming Mail to go to Local Folders, rather than your Mail Account. Therefore, your Mail Account(s) will not be listed in the left panel. I don't really think you want to do this. Your choice of course, but I use my accounts for difference purposes and don't want all incoming mail lumped in one Inbox.

You can disable that setting here:
Tools | Account Settings | Server Settings
    Click the "Advanced" tab
    Click the "POP" tab
Select: Inbox for this server's account

There are Junk Mail, and Message Filter settings in the Tools drop down menu.

BTW, did you check out the notice of the new Firefox-like Browser prototype that Netscape will be testing, beginning November 30? See the first Sticky in this Forum.
