I am trying to set up Outlook Express with a new ISP, Peoplepc. I used the settings they gave me for incoming & outgoing server. I set Peoplepc as my default. OE comes up, connects, but my mail won't send/receive. Also messenger still comes up. I use MLM money for my business. The end result is to use MLM, but I need a ISP that supports POP, not web mail. This is why I am trying PeoplePC. To use MLM money for my email, I need to have Outlook Express working properly. Any suggestions.

What does happen? Getting any error messages?

I would double check the settings they gave you, also I believe that People requires in the account properties, "server requires authentification" needs to be checked. My mom has them, and lots of times she has problems with the email side of it. Sends emails, takes 24hrs to get to me, etc.

BTW, I had downloaded the software from peoplepc, and had nothing but problems. Contacted tech support, they gave me a different site, alot larger file. and it worked then.

Thanks, I don't remember any errors, but I'll try it when I get home. So, would you say this is a good provider, or not?

My mom uses them, I do not. I don't like any ISP that requires you to download any software. I prefer just create a new dialup, and let me handle it. I posted your other question, take a look there.

I uninstalled PeoplePC and am using Highstream. I think I'm going to like them. However, I am still having problems with Outlook. I can send messages, and received a message from highstream support, but all of my other test messages I have sent to myself from another account go directly to the delete folder. There are a lot different "rules" for filtering. I unchecked the ones for friends and only left the ones checked that pertain to junk emails with sex subject lines. Can someone help me figure out the rules part of Outlook Express?

First try going to tools, message rules, blocked senders list. See if your test account is listed there.

When you click on tools, message rules, mail. You'll see new mail rule 1,2,etc. Highlight 1, down below is the description of what the rule exactly is. Look and see if any rule sends mail to the deleted folder. You may have inadvertently put your test mail, or server, domain in there.
