Setting OE as Default mail problems

    Hiya folk's not sure what happened here, I run XP home, up on my toolbar I have the mail icon that no longer enables me to send pages or links etc. from website's. I checked by way of Tools- Internet options-Programs-E-mail the drop down is blank and I have no idea how to get it set to Outlook Express. Strangely it's the default setting for Newsgroups but not mail. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.

    Suggest you run System File Checker ....

    Start > Run > type in sfc /scannow - note the space. Have your XP install CD handy - you may need it.
