How do you set up a domain on Win 2000 Professional? In order to get past the password on Win 98, I have to add it to Win NT Network. But Win 2000 Professional doesn't have any place to set it up as a server. So I get a message that there is no server to approve my password when I log on with my laptop. I just click on it and it boots up anyway and I can access Win 2000. But my program files folder doesn't show even though I have shared it.

Also, I need to know where my outlook data is stored. I can open Outlook, but can't find the data from my palm pilot. I would really like to do that. I imported it okay and have it on the desktop. But when the program boots up in win 98, the data isn't there.

    Thanks for your help

Win2k Pro can not be setup as that type of server. You can host files for a workgroup and share files and printers for up to 10 users. It won't authenicate users like a domain controller will.

If you have a workgroup, you will need to create a matching user list on every system. Username and passwords will be compared via SMB mount when attaching to one another.

I know this works, because I do it at home.
