I am trying to set up a NetGear router, wgr614v6, so I can have WiFi in my house. Netgear's tech. support is the worst I have ever seen (and I started with punch cards).

You are supposed to open IE6 with the router connected and it should take you to a setup page. When I do this it takes me to their SmartWizard which -after some time- tells me I am connected to the router, and Dynamic IP (DHCP) was detected. I then have to click a "next" box, which after quite a while always gives me a page not found error; taking too long to respond.

Can anyone help me with this?

    good resource with diagrams

    http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/wireless/routerindex.htm

make sure that your proxy is off
    tools >options > networking > lan settings
    sometimes its inconsistent
    If explorer does not work
    reboot
then try firefox as a browser
often then the control panel pops up out of nowhere
    can be frustrating
