I am using an application that creates .rtf files and I want the created file to automatically open in my WordPerfect word processor. Instead, the .rtf file opens in Microsoft Word. How can I tell Windows XP to set WordPerfect as the default word processor for .rtf files?

Right click on one of the files->Open With ->Select WordPerfect from the list and place a check mark in the box "always use. "

    Go>Start>My Computer.
    Then>Tools>Folder Options.
    Click File Types,
Scroll down to RTF and highlight it then click on Change.
    Then select WordPerfect.
Make sure that "Always use the selected ............." is ticked if you want WordPerfect to always open .RTF files.
Edit: Must use more than two fingers typing.....
