I read back in March that Windows Update would automatically upgrade Vista users to Service Pack 1.I have had Vista Home Premium running from April and it still has not upgraded to Service Pack 1 automatically.I have all the other updates installed.
I didn't want to install SP1 manually in case it was a bogus download I got.Do I have to upgrade to SP1?It seems to be working OK just now.I do have it all backed up so I suppose I could risk installing SP1
    What do you all think?

    thanks.:)

I did not install SP1 until it was offered by Windows Update.

I went to the hardware manufacturer's websites and checked for updated drivers.

Running Windows Update, some drivers were offered for my system. When I went to the hardware manufacturer's website, they offered a different version of the drivers. I installed the version from the manufacturer's website, downloaded the manual installation of SP1 and it has installed and is working.

Windows Update is still offering me the wrong version of the drivers according the manufacturer.

It could be my Soundblaster X-Fi drivers as I remember when installing them I got the "this driver is not signed" message. These are the only drivers to use though.I will try installing SP1 later.
    thanks Matt.:)
