I am looking at upgrading a server in the near future, and I am not too sure how it all will best be done. The current setup: HP Net Server 500mhx P3 (old machine) with one 9GB SCSI drive with Win2000 Server system on it, and one 40GB IDE Drive with data on it. It has a HP SureStore tape backup on it. I am looking at getting a server with RAID1 controller mirroring (2) 80GB IDE drives. I was wondering how best to get all the data transferred to the new server without having to rebuild everything from scratch. The current data drive has a couple several GB databases that need to be preserved. How would I "ghost" this to the new server's RAID array? Also, would I need to reinstall Windows and could I do that on the RAID drives too? Would a seperate partition be recommended for the system, or a seperate physical drive? If someone could take the time to put together a quick set of ideas or bullet poiints that would be awesome.
    Thanks!

Build new machine with Raid/Operating system.

Pop in old drives and copy away.
