    Hi y'all,

I have a couple of clients whose Server Service is started but when I run the command nbtstat -n on them, it does not show that the Server service for the workstation is registered.

This is what one of them returned:

    Name Type Status

    WQ-01 <00> UNIQUE Registered
    WQ-01 <03> UNIQUE Registered
    DOMAIN <00> GROUP Registered

But no WQ-01 <20> for the server service was return. Also WQ-01 <20> did not get registered on the WINS server, although the above three did. Because of this I cannot see WQ-01 on the network, nor can I map to it, although I can ping it by it's netbios name.

Any one has any clue on how to fix this or where to look Please Please Please help me out.

    Thanks a million.

I'd try putting the affected units in a workgroup and with a different name, tombstoning the current WINS entries and scavanging them out, re-adding the PCs to the domain with their original name, and seeing if a re-registration will be clean.
