Server 2003 Security and the internet

    I have just come back to work and our techs system has got 2003 server on it (Used as a workstation), could someone please tell me how i lower the security, i can't surf the net?

    - what happens when you try?
    - are you behind a proxy server?
    - is the default gateway address (part of the network card settings under TCP/IP) set the same as other PCs that can get to the internet?

    Not good for my first post,

    It was the enhanced security configuration, i went into add remove programs and removed it everything is working fine.

    Actually this is probably a good thing to have posted here. You won't be the only one with the problem and having problem + fix in a thread may help someone else.

    Usually they will just take the fix and run so you never know it helped but the archives here get searched quite a bit by folks who never post.

    Just found the same thing myself.

    I noticed the IE security settings are set to High by default.
