I have suddenly started receiving the following message when sending email from netscape communicator: Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to the SMTP server SMTP.netscape.net failed. The server maybe unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your SMTP server setting is correct and try again, or else contact your network administrator. The email status shows the email delivered and then I get this message. Sometimes the mail is delivered and sometimes it isn't delivered. My advanced Account Settings show Server: smtp.netscape.net In my account settings it shows Server Name: imap.mail.netcenter.com, Port: 143 Does anyone know how to correct this issue?

    Hi jmachulis23,

If you are experiencing problems with your Netscape Webmail, there is a way to get help from AOL. See the below information, which I found on Netscape uFAQ:

"Having Web Mail problems? You can now email Mark Gregor at AOL who has taken this issue under his wing: Policy2004@netscape.net

Please be brief and to the point, thanks !!

NOTE: Please let us know if you had any success and what fixed it."
    ---

That server is owned by AOL, and not Netscape. If you do get a response from AOL I would appreciate very much your posting the reply here.

    Thanks!

    Ramona

I know that it is semantics, but NS Communicator refers to 4.8 and lower, and should not work there. Your account settings refer to incoming mail. You have to check what you have for SMTP settings. It should be smtp.netscape.net, I think. I have no reference to the SMTP in my mail, unless I go to a POP account, and I see two listings of the SMTP. I have two accounts, so it must be an automatic setting. However, I use Netscape Webmail very rarely, but it never failed to behave.
