sending large files

sending very large files is difficault via e mail most put an upload limit on attatchments. I saw somewhere that there is a web site that you can use to up load large files, then you can e mail your receiprient telling them the web site which has the file. can anybody shed any light on this or some suggestions of how i can send large files such as anmusic album or film.
