Just got Xp recently and am looking for the SENDTO folder.

Used to be that you could copy shortcuts to a folder called 'Sendto' under 'Windows' and it would appear in the R-click menu of most icons. Where can this be done now in XP (since ther is NO 'Sendto' folder anymore)?

    thx,

    Mike,

You may find what you want here

'Send to' appears in my right click menu - don't recall adding it, but I'll have to think on that - later (XP Pro)

    Sendto folder is still around.................

Make sure you have enabled the options to view hidden and systems folders in the 'View' folder settings. If not, you won't find this doing a file search:

In any folder that contains files. Click on the tools menu and select folder options.
Then click on the view tab.
Locate where it lists Hide protected operating system files and uncheck it.
Click yes on the box that will pop up.
    Click OK.

    OR

Open C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\SendTo\ and add shortcuts to whatever locations you wish.

    OR

Even easier is just to type sendto on the run line of the startmenu and the sendto folder should open. Drag what ever shortcut you wish into into.

    AND for extra icing..............

I coudn't live without my send to "any folder " option:

Thanks for that - I knew it was around somewhere, but had to go out today. Actually tried 'send to' in run - clearly with no result.

Tried your link to M$ - download page does not appear to exist.

HEH.. yeah... finally found it. XP now has added 'what you can't see won't hurt you' functions even in the search option (the bane of all uber-users or OS pros!). Once I set the search to look for everything, then it found the sento folder. Thx

Try it without the space i.e. 'sendto'. Worked for me.

    PeteC,

Sorry about that MS link. I double checked the original link but did not click through to make sure the download sublink worked. I guess MS no longer offers this, but you can get it here:

Here's something I ran across. I haven't tried this Send To Toys but it is freeware and advertised as XP compatible:
