I have Windows XP. The latest snag is the dissappearance of the option
to send a document or photo as an email attachment. It used to be done
by selecting the material, clicking FILE, selecting the SEND TO option and
from the sub menu, clicking MAIL RECIPIENT. This last option has now
dissappeared from the sub menu. How may it be restored?

Browse to your Send To folder. It's located at:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User ID\SendTo

Right-click the open screen area and select New > Text Document. Name the document Mail Recipient.mapimail and ignore the warning about changing the extension. Click Yes and you should be back in business.
