    Hi

I have set my font (Tools-options-compose) to verdana size 10 (mail and news).
My mails are set to be sent in html.

However, apparently people say that they are arriving in Times New Roman. How can I ensure that they are sent in verdana 10. Is there somewhere else I should also change the font settings? Please could someone let me know exactly what their font settings are.

    Thanks
    Lee

leeolive - Welcome to the Board :)

A simple test - send an email to yourself as see it it appears in verdana size 10.

Fonts are not embedded in emails AFAIK and will only be displayed on the recipient computer if it has the font installed.

FWIW my font settings are shown in the attached screen shot - I have no idea how emails appear to the recipient, but they can be read :)

    Thanks for getting back, Pete.

I've changed my font settings within
tools - options - compose to exactly what you have in compose.jpg. However, I can't find the dialogue box like your fonts.jpg. This must be the problem. Could you let me know how you accessed that dialogue box?

I'm using OUtlook Express 6. Is this what you're using?

    Cheers
    Lee

Tools > Options > Read > Fonts - you can change the font in which you read messages, bit it may/should? be over ruled by html messages.

    Thanks :)

Hopefully it'll be okay. I now seem to receive them as they should be although that's prob because of the way I have set up 'fonts.jpg' to 'read' my emails. I guess how someone sees my email depends on how they have their 'read - fonts' set up. Is this correct?

To be honest I am not sure if the message is formatted html.

Send me a a test email in html and your chosen font and I will let you know how I see it.

I see your mail as Arial which is my set read font, but I can see it in Verdana if I set that as default. I cannot recall the default read font in OE, but it is most likely Times NR and I guess few people change it.

The email was definitely sent in html as html is selected (within the actual email, Format - 'Rich HTML' is selected)

Your saying that the default 'read' is probably TNR would explain why people say they receive my email in TNR.

At the end of the day, I guess it doesn't matter what font I select to send an email in, it will always be read according to the receiver's settings.
