I'm having trouble with my COM1 port and I think it's effecting my modem and other programs.

I've been trying to get my modem to work on a SONY VAIO PCG-FX340 and since have had problems with my COM1. Not sure whether they are related or not.

I'm running windows XP home edition and get this message when I try to run my HOTSYNC MANAGER which uses this COM port.

I've tried uninstalling this COM port and then reinstalling the driver. After I did that it recognized my modem but it still didn't work.

    HELP!
