I get several emails during the week that I usually only have time to skim over at first look. I save them and re-read them on the weekends. I'm looking for a utility or program that I can use to highlight certain sections of the emails so I won't have to re-read them, just look for the highlighted sections. Does anyone know of one or three? Thanks.

EDIT--typed after my original post below
BUMMER!! I just tried to highlight an email. Web Accessories does not work on email, apparently just on Web pages.
You might look into some of the tools mentioned here
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q="highlight+tool"&btnG=Google+Search

dopey--Assuming you are running Windows 5.x or 6 you can download and install MS Web Accessories
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/previous/webaccess/ie5wa.asp
I know the site says it works only on 5.x, but Highlight (and actually everything but Images List) is working fine on my IE6 SP1 . (However, I had installed Web Accessories prior to installing IE6, so do not know if that makes a difference.)

I can't think of any easy way to do this. One option would be to use Annotis Mail (or a similar program (if one exists!)) to mark the relevant sections and then forward the mail onto yourself. It's not a particularly practical solution though! Another non-practical solution would be to open the messages in Word, highlight as desired and then save.

dopey--Another partial work around. OE Message|Flag Message will allow you to "flag" the entire message but not any part.

Yeah, if only I had Word. But this is the family computer. No work allowed. :)

It's also the only comp for informative, non work related emails.

Oh well, maybe I can scan a highlighter, change the image to a thumbnail, then change the thumbnail to a desktop icon. When I click on the icon I should be able to highlight the text I want. I'll have to add this to my list of future tweaks. :)

Searching google per WelshJim's suggestion resulted in either needing Word or Adobe Acrobat Reader. Can an email be converted to a pdf file you think?

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I'm going to experiment with the Web Accessories. If I save my emails as html and open them in IE, it may just work. Can't hurt to try. Thanks WelshJim for the link.

    dopey--This is an add-on to brett's suggestion.
If your only objective is to highlight certain passages in an email, in Outlook Express you could click Forward, highlight (color, underline, bold, etc.) the passages you want and send (Forward)to yourself.
No need for a third party program or Word.
P.S. And you could add the Priority exclamation point to differentiate between the forwarded highlighted email and the original, non-highlighted one.

Well that was simple. Thanks guys. I don't send fancy emails so I don't know all the extras in OE. Never have went through it to see what can be done. :)
