I did a scan of programs that are installed on my computer to see just what was there, when I installed the software, do I really use it, etc. I got a list of "Security Update for Windows XP" dating 2006 forward to 2007. Is it necessary to keep these files on my hard drive? I am assuming this information has been incorporated into the system. I use XP with IE. Thanks

If you're talking about the folders you see under Windows then yes you can zap em provided you are certain you'll NEVER need to unistall an update.

If you're talking about the updates you see in Add/Remove programs - then NO, you don't want to uninstall them.....You won't be able to if you do the first thing above.

O.K. I will leave everything as it is. I had never seen all these updates showing up anywhere before this. Thanks for responding.
