Can a website (in this case National Geographic) erect a security barrier which makes it impossible to send a site from my computer to another? I've taken part in their Genome Project and received the results, accessed through my user name, password and another (numbered) code.

I can send it to one of my alternate email sites and can read it there, however, all efforts, even by a computer expert, have not been successful in posting it on any other computer (Linux, Mac or Windows). This study tracks DNA from the original Africa (where we all came from), through to the DNA's dispersal through the world and as such is of great interest not only to me but to my descendents. Naturally I would like to send it to them. It cannot be printed off my computer in one piece as there are parts that do not print (mainly text that has to be scrolled down).

I have enquired at Nat. Geographic and their only comment was that my suggestion of a "send to" option would "be a good idea in the future ". I assume that the site does not want people using their information in general and so has erected this obstacle, but this is just a guess on my part. Any help welcomed.

Did you try right clicking on the web address in the address bar, clicking on copy then pasting the web address into the body of an e-mail.

There is no web address, no address bar on the opening page. When I attempt to paste an earlier (prior to the opening page), it will show up in an email but is not highlighted so cannot be copied or pasted by the receiver.

    1. You cannot send the page to another because its a secure page, i.e. you must have an account there and login to view content.

    2. A site can use code to disable the browser menu bar (Edit Menu > Copy or Paste) and it can disable the right click menu, but it cannot stop the keyboard functions for copy and paste.

    3. You can take screenshots of the page at various scrolled positions to capture its content as images.
