I am having a problem with an XP machine running service pack 2. It is a member of a Server 2003 domain. Every month or so the security log will fill up and only the administrator (me) can log in an clear the log so the user can log in again. I have gone into the firewall settings and turned them off and gone into the advanced tab and clicked on security logging settings and removed both checkmarks and still the log fills up and prevents the user from logging in. Am I missing something obvious?

    Any suggestions?

    Tom

Are you referring to Security Log in Event Viewer? If so, in Event Viewer, right clik on Security>Filter>General tab, can choose to overwrite as needed, overwrite after 7 days, or set up as you like. Also you can open filter tab and select only what you want to be logged. Hope this helps, if not post back. Joe.

Looks good so far. I will post again if I run into the same problem.

    Thanks!
