    Hi everybody

    The Circumstances of the issues
C1) A 1st PC has 2 NTFS partition with a boot partition, OS installed is w2k Prof sp4.
C2) One of disk, a number of folders & a printer on 1st PC are shared giving full rights to Everyone. All these are done on a "New Share" with maximum user allowed & Permissions to Everyone, Full Control selected. Even Anonymous User is allowed.
C3) A 2nd PC installed with win98 SE that joined the same WorkGroup as 1st PC (both having address format 192.168.1.xxx) can access 1st PC peer to peer.
C4) There is no hardware problem as the 1st PC had a similar configuration and the 2nd PC was able to access. Pinging the address shows it works.

    The Event
E1) 1st PC is login as Administrator without password
E2) On click the network icon on the 2nd PC, we can see only see the 1st PC but not the shared disks, shared folders or shared printer. ????
E3) When we try to click on the 1st PC, password is required for remote IPC$ shared name. (no password for administrator in 1st PC see E1) ????

    The Tinkering
T1) In computer Management dialog, all the sessions with their properties showed that requried sharing allowing Everyone to access.

    Solution Found: Period

    Its me again

Since there is no response to this thread, i must finally state the fact that: The problem is gone on restarting the PCs the 2nd day.

    Why?
I am not sure but the key point is "1st PC allows 'Everyone' access" in the New Share. [Anonymous User is not used]

I imagine it takes some time for login to set in.

    :)
