Not sure where (which forum) this problem belongs. I am on internet sattelite (Direcway 6000) and recently have had a hard time getting online. A problem box pops up and says a network cable is unplugged. If I keep trying to open a page on the internet or check my e-mail it will eventually work fine for awhile and then disconnect and I have to go through the process again. The technicians at Direcway tell me the signal strength is too low and I have a technician coming to align the dish on the 11th.
The problem is, when I do get online, I can't get any secure pages to open. All other pages load normally. I get the "page cannot be displayed click refresh" on all secure sites. Is it possible the low signal strength could cause this or is it a deeper problem? One of the first technicians I talked to at Direway had me change settings in connections and security and maybe that was the cause. The problem is I don't remember the old settings. Thanks in advance for your help. Jack

    Solved!

I tried all the suggestions, that I could figure out, and still had the problem. I started to retrace the steps the technician led me through and found a note in my trash with some things that the technician had me try. One was to change my LAN settings to use a proxy server. After unchecking the proxy server box things returned to normal. Thanks for the help.
