SecondChance

I have a Compaq computer with win 98. I recently found
SecondChance v. 2.0 by PowerQuest at an Office Max on a
clearance table and bought it. I installed it and it
worked fine, but after creating a checkpoint one time I
not get an error message when starting my computer that
a certain file is invalid, "push any key to continue ".
The file had a funny name like PSQ creation MSD or
somthing like that. I listed the file in "find files" and
could not locate it. This now happens every time I boot.

I was thinking of uninstalling SecondChance then
reininstalling it. I read somewhere if you try to
install SecondChance a second time it will not only
not reinstall but also destroy the computer software.
It this true?

How can I remove this problem at bootup?

Until some with Second Chance user comes along...You might try Powerquest site and see if there are FAQ's. Also the help file that came with SC? Uninstall and reinstall?

No second chance with Second Chance?

 

Sounds to me like you shouldn't reinstall it anyway.

Uninstall it search for what is left on the HD and delete. Then run a couple of registry cleaners.
