I have a boot up problem with a Compaq notebook, I have been on the hard drives website (Hitachi), they are asking me to download a file from the web which is proving difficult, does anyone know where it is located ?

I have copied a paragraph in the instructions asking for The Drive Fitness Test set-up program, I have copied a line from it below:

"Using Windows Explorer, locate the program DFT32-Vxxx.exe downloaded from the Internet. "

Thanks for the info Pete, I did see that file but it was a different file name to the one mentioned in a PDF file from Hitachi but will give it a try.

On that page you want Disk Creator for Windows OS which is dft32_v411_boo.exe.

I suspect that _boo refers to the build number.
