I'm having problems finding files especially folders in win7. I've just lept from xp pro so not familiar with vista.

I'm used to the xp search via explorer where you can choose file size, type and other options.

When i search computer in win7 on a particular drive it won't find folders? Also occasionaly its hasn't found a file although when i manually search through i can find it?

    Any help appreciated, very frustrated.

Also i have moved some files from one drive to another and it appears i have lost them. I didn't delete them so any ideas on this also. I have searched but they dont come up?

I find Windows 7 search working fine.... But I have set the following options from Control Panel's Folder Options (Search tab):

What to search: Always search file names and contents

How to search: Include subfolders in search results when searching in file folders & Find partial matches

When searching non-indexed locations: Include system directories

    Windows 7 searching files folders

    Hi

I previously submitted a post on this before and had thought it was fixed but isn't

A month ago i backed up my router settings. I had a problem with the router and had to reset it. Thus needed the saved router settings. i looked in the folder i thought they were in which they weren't. i then went to windows explorer and searched in computer. The file wasn't found????? I searched by its full name and with *.blah blah but it still didn't find it.

Thinking i had deleted it i remembered i had been saving some torrents recently and thought maybe it was in there. Low and behold it was!

So why didn't windows explorer pick it up? Any help appreciated and no comments on using some other software to find it. Whats the point!
