    Hi,

On my ME I can right click a folder and select search a word or phrase in files and I could type in maybe </span> and the result would show me all files that have </span> in the source code.

When doing the same on my XP I get no matches and I can't seem to get it to check the souce code.

Is there a setting that will allow me to do this in XP?

    Regards,
    CP

    Hi Chris,

The XP search engine is not great and I don't use it and cannot answer your question directly.

I use Agent Ransack - a far quicker and more sophisticated search engine than the XP variety - give it a try, it has the text search facility you want and is freeware.

If I understand your question right.. YOu can use the * to fill in anything after the span...... as *span*. You can't use the "\" as it is an invalid character to the search. So the *span* means anything before span and anything after. Hope this helps.

    Hey cangowrong
Don't sweat it. I've been guilty of my replies getting ahead of my reading too. What's the old saying? Something like.... stuff happens. ;)
