I am having an irritating situation that whenever I use my legitimate copy of the Bookworm Deluxe program the Search Results Windows appears several times.

I had posted this problem under the viruses and malware section of windowsbbs but they have found nothing wrong. It was that section that recommended that I post it in this area instead.

    Thank you for responding.

Yes, I have re-installed. Actually the user had a copy from another source which was also giving the same problem. So I advised her to get her own original product, which she has done. So I am surprised that the issue still exists.

Also, I believed it was some kind of virus and malware so I had posted this issue in the malware/virus forum. But after their investigations, and nothing was found, they advised I post in the Windows forum.

Thank you Foxhenry. But the problem with the 'Serach Results' window suddenly popping up is still occurring even after I ran the utility you suggested.

I had originally posted this issue in the malware/virus forum and did all their checks.

It was they who suggested that I repost in this forum for general Windows help.

i view your post at malware/virus forum..but it seems that you never tried malware bytes is it?
can you try going to regedit go to run then type regedit...
    then navigate to\hklr\applications\finder.exe\
    check the registry keys..
the "noopenwith" string should have no value.. just check if it will help :)
