Search Toolbar

I am using Internet Explorer 6 and "Search" will not appear as a toolbar although I put a check mark under View > Toolbars >Search (The same as Standard buttons, Address, etc.) The screen just flickers a little but nothing changes. It was working until I had to reinstall Internet Explorer6. I tried "repair Internet Explorer" in the add/remove programs, I tried reinstalling it again, I searched the faq's and the knowledge base. I have the search button but I want the search bar (like the address bar) back again. Can anyone help me? Thank you

Welcome to the boards. Any chance you're thinking of something such as the Google toolbar?

no Daizy, I'm referring to the tool bar in Internet Explorer browser. When I click on View (next to Edit) then Toolbars, there is a list that comes up, Standard buttons, Address bar, Links ,Search, lock the toolbars and customize. When I put a check next to Search, It should then show as a bar just like the Address bar. That's how it was before but now it just flickers and doesn't change. I hope I'm explaining this right. Thanks.

 

AFAIK, IE6 does not have a search toolbar.

I checked my other computer, running 5.5 and it doesn't have it either?
