I would like to take the results for an Explorer Search and Export or Save it to an Excel of Text file; to be used later as a search table in a Excel spreadsheet. I have tried the File save and the resultant file is not addressable. Can this be done with my native XP Pro or do I need to download some additional software or patchs from Microsoft? I am hoping that if additional software is required that it would be in the Freeware relm.

gandulf - Welcome to the Board :)

Take a look at AgentRansack (freeware) - a far superior search engine to that in XP. I use the Pro version, File Locator Pro which will save search results to a text file. Don't know offhand if the freeware version does or not. Give it a try :)

    Export to Text file

Ransack worked just fine. Need to fine tune the options a little but I did get the results I expected.

Now how do I close this post?

Posts are left open for a set period of time unless Admin or the Moderators decide to close them to prevent further postings for various reasons.
