    Hi all,

In SM 1.x, whenever I came here my UserName and password would automatically be in the Login box.

However, in SM 2.5 I have to put the cursor in the box, click and either type the first letter of my login name or hit the ▼ on my keyboard.

This is just like IE. Is there a tweak or workaround for this?

[I originally posted this in SM 2.5. I closed out and started SM 1.x and my UseName and Password were automatically entered.]

What do you mean it is just like IE. I have no problems anyplace I go with IE as long as I tell the site to remember me.

    Hi MrBill,

    Happy & Merry!

Anyway, just as I said, on some sites (like here, for example) I have to click the UserName box and then I have to hit the first letter of my UserName on the keyboard and then my UserName is in a dropdown box, I click it and it and my password is entered and then I have to click LogIn — just like I have to do with IE.

It didn't behave this way in SeaMonkey 1.x. When I came to this site, my User Name and password would automatically be entered and all I'd have to do is click Log In. And, other sites where I have more than one User Name and Password, when I'd go to the site, a box with all my User Names would automatically come up, I'd click the one I want to use and "it" and my password would be there: But not with SM 2.5.

    That's what I mean.

I have seen this behavior with Firefox-related program, past v.3. This is one of the sites which requires the extra work. But, if I select to File Bookmark, and replace the existing bookmark, I will be able to open not only the site, but, also with the right topic. I am using v.2.6.1, and this site opened fine with v.2.5, but, it seems to have lost its memory, in going up one version. Now, 2.6.1 is based on FF9, as 2.5 was based on FF8. I had, exactly, the same behavior with the FF versions, As for IE, I don't use it intentionally. Only when some website decides to do that. Seamonkey is my default program.

    Hi Westside,
Same here. I added the "IEView" app for the recalcitrant sites and it works like a charm.

I'd still like to know why my Login info isn't auto entered when I come here anymore? Could it have something to do with the new site design?

As I said, some sites auto-enter my info like before, and now, most don't. Is it a 2.5 thing or is there a "auto-login" setting somewhere? With SM 1.x (which I still use on occasion) it doesn't behave like this.

I have not used 1.x since 2.x came out, so I don't remember, for sure. But, as far as Windows BBS, it had, always, been a minor problem, even when I was not logging off. I had to enter, at least one letter of my username, and the rest was filling out. And, I, always had the check mark to remember. But, whatever goes for SM 2.5/2.6, has been going on in Firefox greater than 2, or 3. In other words, if a site does not remember, immediately, the info, it is the same in Seamonkey and Firefox. If the username/password are listed in Edit/Preferences/Privacy and Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, they will come up. You will not have to enter everything, if you saved them.
