Seamonkey pop.att.yahoo.com mail not arriving. I work with 2 PC's. After 6 months I downloaded mail. The server had stored a lot of old mail. It downloaded except for some old emails and current mail.

I've deleted a lot of mail using: trash/empty trash/compact, many times. when I hit get messages the drive light shows it is working but nothing happens. After 4-5 minutes the following message appears:
    DELE command did not succeed.
Error marking a message as deleted.
Mail server pop.att.yahoo.com responded, too many requests.

On Mozilla technical help I found a possible fix. Right click on INBOX, Properties, Repair Folder, OK. Do the same for TRASH. Did this several times. There was activity but problem was not solved.

I can send mail perfectly. Recipients receive mail and mail sent to myself arrives at Yahoo in seconds.

    I'd appreciate suggestions!
    Thank you

No replies as yet. Now switched to Thunderbird with modified ID to download all this mail. Worked partially. Now I get this message:
The RETR command did not succeed.
    Error retrieving a message.
    Mail server pop.att.yahoo.com responded:
    Too many requests.

    Retired Learner-
    Thanks for your input!
I monkeyed around with this problem for hours. I finally installed Thunderbird to read and send. It had trouble opening browsers to read attachments. Finally opted to have PC fixed remotely. The Email fix and tune up worked great! $59.-. Very happy. I'll mark this as solved.

Great to know you've sorted out your problem.;)
I've used Thunderbird for years and when our ISP began charging for email - I changed to gmail.
I have never had any problems using this setup - TB client - gmail server.
