If you see this in Internet Explorer and Outlook Express it is malware. Generally this beast is called 'Hotbar'.

    There is an uninstaller: http://www.pchell.com/support/hotbar.shtml

But after dealing with Hotbar, search for other beasties and add some protection to your system:

    Lavasoft Adaware freeware
    http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

    Microsoft Windows Defender, free
    http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

    Spybot Search and Destroy, freeware.
    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

Download all three. Install. Update the definition files.
Run a scan with each to see what is going on. Windows Defender will stick around actively scanning for malware in the background after its scan is completed.

    Bill Castner.
Sorry for the delay in replying to your posting. However, I would like to thank you for your response, which proved to be very accurate.
The scrolling 'Malware' disappeared after installing and running the suggested software.
Also have NTL's Netguard installed, which I suppose, should have found this one.
    Good to see it's zapped!!
    Much obliged.
