My husband is running Windows XP on an almost new Pentium 4. He lokes to scroll down by clicking under the bar on the right side of the screen -- so it jumps down one full screen. It just started jumping down 2 full screens when he clicks that. I told him to just use the wheel on his mouse, but no.. he is a creature of habit and wants to get it like it was. I hope this made sense. Thanks for your help. I'll be his hero if I get this fixed!!!:D

    Hi.

Try "Start/Settings/Control Panel/Mouse" and see if the "Clicklock" is checked. If so, uncheck it.

Also, he may be used to holding the button down longer and with the P4 its reading the button faster and doing multiple clicks. Try letting the button go quicker or clicking faster. You can make changes in the mouse settings as per above.

I read today in Woody's Windows Watch, that that exact phenomenon is a side effect of the latest Internet Explorer patch. I don't have a link to the newsletter, but I'm sure Google can dig it up for you. Clydeo22

I used to like clicking "under" the scroll bar with older computers. These ones are just too fast. Now I click on the bar itself and pull it as fast or slow as I like.
