    Hello, All -

I have my computer set to shut down my monitor after 15 seconds of non-use. The monitor will shut down after that time about 90% of the time.

However, after a few days, it stays ON and won't shut off even after "right-clicking" on the desktop and changing the settings so it SHOULD change to "shutting down ". Any ideas or suggestions?

(Guess?) A program might have a memory leak and cannot be taken out the "foreground ".

Do you shut down any programs you are no longer using? If you leave them "sitting there" the system won't be able to cope with going into a power saving mode.

As a test, if it won't go into power saving mode, try closing all your programs and as many programs in the Notification Tray as you can, see if it works then. Isolate the culprit program.

I shut down Windows XP when I am not using it, I'm not an "always on" person (except with Vista's Sleep mode). I just advise people that do to reboot every few days.
