I have a friends Eee Pc, which we removed malware from in the Malware Forum. We now have a problem with the screen saver. The screen saver sets up correctly, and even shows ok in the preview frame, but when we go back onto desktop, and the screen saver starts to run, all we get is a black screen. The pc is running Windows 7 home edition, 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a wireless mouse or keyboard involved? Try unplugging one or both and see what happens. Seen where a almost dead battery would cause this problem.

That or uninstall them and then install them back and see what happens.

    retiredlearner,
The PC downloaded a couple more updates, and after these installed, the screen saver came good. So i'm not to sure what the problem was, but it's all ok now. Thank you all for your assistance.

    Regards
    Graham

Retiredlearner, may be i spoke to soon. If i have the screen saver set for 5 minutes, it works well, but if i have it set for anything over 15 minutes, well we just get the black screen. The owner is happy with that, he leaves the screen saver at 5 minutes, so not going to bother looking into it any further.

    Cheers
    Graham.
