I have Windows XP in my new computer. When I am downloading a lengthy file and have my hand off the mouse, a half-hour after I take my hand off the mouse the screen goes dark. I don't want the screen to ever go dark in this situation. Can anyone tell me specifically what to click so that the screen never goes dark? Thanks.

    Could be 2 things:

First of all right-click on your Desktop...left-click "Properties "...click on Screen Saver Tab.

    1) Could be that you have a "Blank" screen saver set. If so change to something else. Increase the time to wait before saver starts.

    2) It could also be that you have your Power settings for your Monitor set to turn it off after XX amount of minutes. You will see the "Monitor" section on the bottom of the Screen Saver Tab. Click the "Power" button. "Power Schemes" should be the first tab and under the "Settings for Home/Office Desk power scheme" set "Turn off Monitor to "never" or increase the time to wait later that what you have set.

    Hope this helps...:)
