Trying to find some modicum of sanity.

There is no rhyme or reason to why some programs have really tiny fonts in interior panes (eudora) why some emails come with tiny fonts (eudora) why the tool or menu bar of Outlook is really tiny,

I have done the make things bigger thing, and it only partly works.

Some programs allow you to Ctl + others do not.

I'm still asking myself WHYYYYY -- this is so time consuming.

    Thanks for your help.

    re Eudora:
The program itself should have its own font size settings for reading and writing. As for reading though, you can be subjected to the font size that was specified by the sender of the message.

For example, if I compose an email in any email program and use a size 8 font, it will look very small to you. On the same token I could use size 16 font and it may appear too large for you.

You cannot control the size of the font the sender uses unless you set your email program to use only plain text and no html email. Html email is rich text, meaning it uses bold, underline, italic, headings, bulleted lists, images, etc.

Thanks for that. I have adjusted the reading and sending fonts and they are fine. As well are the menu bars for incoming and outgoing mail.

What is weird is that when I seek to find a message the menu bar is so tiny as are the menu for the address book.

    Thoughts...

The operating system, Windows 8, doesn't change your font sizes. The sizes are determined by you via Personalization, Display Settings and Screen Resolution.

Change these things by right clicking the Desktop > select Personalize. (see below images)

What size monitor do you have?
