I apologize in avance if this is the wrong place for this question but I couldn't find anywhere else to try.

I am trying for find information on how, if possible, to tun SpyBot in an unattended mode via the scheduler. I cannot seem to find any information on command line parameters. TIA.

You actually want it to run by itsself and decide for you what it's going to DELETE?

Thanks for the reply and you are correct. I always choose to 'fix problems'. However, I don't want it to automatically check on reboot for those it can't.

You should be able to check the automation settings for
    - Run check on program start
    - Fix all problems on program start
and then have task manager start the app.

I haven't tried this but is surely seems like it should work. And if you set it not to run again on system start, it should behave just like you want it to.

Thanks. That got me looking in the right place. I couldn't find any documentation on it and never saw that set of options.

I finally got to setting the options suggested. I still get prompts to delete file and do I want to check on reboot. I don't see anything in the options to check that seem to relate to this.

Check your shortcut. If it ends with /easymode then delete that and check the settings section again. You'll see lots of options you didn't see when running in easy (stupid user) mode.

The version I have offers quite a few settings options including some in the Automation section that read:
    Don't ask for fixing confirmation
    Rerun checks after fixing problems
    Close program if everything's OK

If you check those and uncheck any that call for confirmation, it should run fine for you.

Thaks for the replies but once the options are set how do I start SpyBot to change them? It seems that the best option is to use teh command line switches, if I can ever get back into SpyBot.

I do not have /easymode in the command line.

As an aside about the philosophy of letting SpyBot fix problems automatically: Many users aren't going to know when or what to delete anyway. I don't really see the danger compared to that of having all kinds of information being sent to who knows where. I can't imagine what spyware I'd want to keep that I didn't already know about and put in the exclude file. Although I don't even know of any spyware I'd keep at all at this point.

Bare with me , I have not used any automation till now trying to help. and still dont recomend using it !!!!!! you need to wacth what is fixed and if prompted reboot..............
Once you use all the options you want,, auto start , auto fix
and if you also set the auto close to get back in to change settings again you will need to edit the ini file or delete it.
    location depends on your os
Or I think just change the auto close to 0
Or get the tool that probaly just deltes the ini file
"You can download a small tool that will do those changes for you: click here. "
    safer-networking.
    ========================
OR creat a seperate shortcut and modifie the target value's
put it in the startup folder or scheduled tasks.
But Im unsure what works and doesnt.
    something like this:
    "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SpybotSD.exe "
    /autocheck/autofix/onlyspyware/autoclose

I can get it to work But it may be becouse I have a beta vesion,

Im unsure what it would do if for instance SpyBot needed to restart the PC in order to finish the cleanup.

Be sure not to set the directories to o say all of C drive or even program files its not ment for that and will cause problems ,,
its basicaly ment just as an extra scan for where ever you download things to. such as a subfolder in the my documents folder.
    ==================
If it were me I would just wait for the next version ..(Soon)
sorry I cant be of more help..

Later I did get this to work,, creating a new shortcut and modifying the target value to see below..But there must be a space between
' and / and before every forward slash

    "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SpybotSD.exe" /taskbarhide /autocheck /onlyspyware /autofix /autoclose
Doing it this way has the added benifit of hiding and activity
the user wont even know it running or has ran , but you should
beforehand set spybot to use minimul cpu,
scan priority to minimum or when idle

whoops just checked again , I still got a conformation box where i had to say yes or no

Whew! Thanks for all the effort and information. I have it working now but I may take your advice and wait for the next version to put it on the other PCs. Thanks again.
