scanning and repairing hard drive

    [FONT= "Comic Sans MS"]Hi, I hope someone will help me, every time i try to scan and repair my hard drive with my system mechanic (zonelabs) it comes back telling me that the hard drive is locked by windows. I am a self taught, novice and up until now i've been doing not bad but I think i've hit a brick wall and I really, really need your help.....Please:confused: [/FONT]

    Have you tried running "system mechanic" while in Safe mode?

    Why not try just chkdsk c: /f /r ?
