scanner problem:LEXMARK X63

Just installed a All-in-One LEXMARK X63(Printer-scanner-fax).The printer works fine,but the scanner does not.I can not copy either.When I fax a document,the other party receives a blank page.If they try to fax me,they say that the phone does not pick up.Win 98.USB port(PC card).

When I fax a document, the other party receives a blank page.
The most commom problem, you have the print side up. When you place them in the document feeder, they "generally" have to be print side down. IF you have been doing it that way, then reverse what you been doing. Never used a X63, most require print side down.

If they try to fax me, they say that the phone does not pick up.
The printer may be in telephone mode. (per Lexmart F&Q)
