Scanner Artec AM 12U Plus

    I have just been given an Artec Scanner, which is not been recognised by the computer. I have a error message that "you cannot connect the scanner to the bus power device ". I am running windows 98 se, on a PII 333 with USB, that works ok, and delivers 500ma per port. The light comes on the scanner but will not scan.
    Your advice is most appreciated,

    If you are getting this message whenever you try to use the scanner software, I would check the USB cable, as it seems the scanner is not connected.
    Do other USB devices function using the same port?
