    Hi all.

I was thinking about having a little SBS server at home to play with so I got the trial cd from Microsoft. This isnt the first SBS machine ive done so it was all familiar. Anyways, to the point -

Got SBS installed and set up the client computers / users.

First machine to be connected just finished reinstalling Windows so I went to connect it to the domain by ye olde http://server/connectcomputer - it came up 404 error. So i just went to the root - http://server - that worked fine. Clicked on the connect computer link on that page - 404 error. Basically i cant connect my client computers because the ConnectComputer wizard is missing. Any thoughts on how to get it back?

Try using the server's IP address instead of the name server. For example:

    10.0.0.1/connectcomputer

Have a look at this discussion:

    http://www.mcse.ms/message1324996.html

It suggests that the cause is that the virtual directory in connectcomputer is not pointing at a valid folder. That would match you symptoms and end up with a 404 error.
