Gotta get something cleared up here

    irdreed

The links you point to refer to IEXPLORE ( Internet Explorer )

If the EXPLORER that LikaLaruku mentions is indeed correct then it may well be a Windows System error.

I have had the EXPLORER error a couple of times in the past and the only real solid fix was a re-install of Windows.

And the main reason for my post is that these two files do get confused on occassion.

And at times Windows itself messes up and brings up the WRONG error message. So it could be IE related. The suggested fixs sure will not hurt.

    BillyBob,
Understand what you mean by that confusion, but I thought if one was doing a "Bookmark of a Page...that one IS using IE Explorer, therefore that's why I used that first reference from MS.
It seems to me that the second one does refer to windows explorer errors.

I was hoping for a quick response to either of these from him, to see if the problem was gone. If not then there is also the possibility of a virus, or as you suggested a Complete Reinstallation may be the other avenue.

Is for either IE or explorer. Same solution for both as irdeed pointed out. Boils down to cleaning out IE temps from dos, to do a thorough job that includes the index.dat. **** Cleaner may be a more convenient way of doing this:
    http://www.ccleaner.com/

Read and understand all directions and functions of **** cleaner. Don't try to take shortcuts when doing things. Use all caution and prior precaution backup procedures.

(is a her) Already checked my computer through Error Check, AGV, AdAware, SpyBot, & HijackThis & they didn't pick up anything that helped. I'll try some of the mentioned stuff.

After an hour of farting around........

Good news: Not crashing after saving websites.

Bad news: Still same problem after closing any desktop window closed after 1 min or so open (if I close them seconds latter, it doesn't make a fuss)

Have you Gone here And scrolled down to the explorer error in UNKNOWN section to see if you have any of the software mentioned installed ?

I recall at least two. Ms Office and Winzip. And under certain circumstances they both will mess things up.

If you have none of these I believe you are looking at an overtop/repair install of the OS.
