Sata media server nas

    Hi,
    I have a 500Gb sata drive and i was looking to convert it into a network media server.

    Does anybody know of any caddie or enclosure which feature a media server?

    Getting a SATA to NAS caddie is easy, finding one with media server is not so easy.

    Netgear NAS boxes provide this sort of functionality, but they are not cheap.

    if it were me, I'd get a unit like the Buffalo linkstation live, and then use your spare drive as a backup unit for the link station (via a cheap usb caddy)
