    Hello WindowsBBS users!

I have a problem with SATA hard drive NTFS sector. When Vista starts, it tries to repair the damaged sectors but it doesn't help. Every time Vista boots, it tries to get through the same sectors, but it won't fix anything. And when the Vista has started, the hard drive can not be found. I have tried to start Vista in Safe Mode to command prompt, but Vista can't still locate the hard drive.

I tried to find the hard drive with XP. And it found it (once), but XP said that there was Basic I/O error and the drive could not be accessed.

Is there some kind of program that can rewrite the NTFS sector from boot cd? Because I don't have floppy disk drive anymore :)

    Could anyone please help...

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

I would check out the drive with the manufacturer's disk diagnostics - irreparable damaged sectors are not good news ......

If the drive is under warranty, ask for replacement.
