Hi RL, Checked and find all Sliders are set to ON. Radio (.) buttons are not shown or did you mean (Slider)? Caption Safe to remove still fails. Thanks Bobby.

Bobby, how are you attempting to get it to notify you? When I have a piece of hardware I wish to remove I first Right Click the icon for that item and it is only then that I get the Notification that it is safe to remove.[IMG]

RL, I click the [] symbol shown on taskbar, when it opens, then click as in this instance the USB stick required to be removed, within seconds a caption is shown informing me it is safe to remove the said USB stick. This error just started to happen yesterday. I can not recollect of having changed any settings.

Bobby, maybe I am reading your description incorrectly but it sounds like you are describing what I tried to show in my attachment and what I have always seen on virtually every computer I have owned when removing something like a USB stick. I seen no error there What I see is it is ok for me to remove whatever I want to remove.

What I do is, click the icon [] on Taskbar "Safely Remove Hardware", then click the hardware that I wish to remove (caption as shown in your example above). The other Caption that I refer no longer shows on screen, this mean is it or not safe to remove selected hardware (USB stick).

Bobby, do you not see the above message?
This link gives several ways to fix your problem. Watch the video and I would try his #1 suggestion.
#2 suggestion is worth investigating also.

If you look at the piece of hardware you are removing you will see that its light goes off and the icon disappears. This means it is safe to remove.
If you aren't seeing what retiredlearner posted then you need to go to Settings, System, Notifications and Actions and be sure that Get Notifications and other Senders is turned ON

Boy, It doesn't look as easy as the suggestion I gave. One step really.

I think Tony remarked about this some time back. Re using the Safely Remove or just disconnecting the USB device.
In the old days you stood the chance of losing/corrupting data on USB devices if you just unplugged them.

Right. The info I gave will give him his Safe to Remove box that I think he is missing. I just tried it to be sure and it worked. Easy fix.
Settings, System, Notifications and Actions and be sure that Get Notifications from Apps and other Senders is turned ON

RL. The caption you posted is exactly the one that I am referring about. Unfortunately it no longer shows on screen when specific USB in this case is clicked, but removes reference to that USB..
Watched the video, most interesting, however found it impossible for me to look, listen and take notes, must be my brain due to age (88yrs) no longer able to concentrate sufficiently. Other suggestions thank you all, have been carried out, but error still persists. I did a restore to a date when Safely Remove was working, result negative. Again my thanks to all for interest shown.

USB Safe to remove Notification missing
Bobby, This link clearly shows what jh and I have been explaining should fix the problem.
I would suggest as always, when you make a change/alteration in the OS, Close off and Shut down the comp - Boot up again which will enable the changes to take place.
If in doubt when you wish to disconnect a USB device from your computer:
Right click on the Start icon > Device Manager > Disc drives > Right click on the drive you want to remove > Properties > Policies > make sure Radio button is on Quick Removal (Default) > Close out.
This will enable you to unplug without loss of data.

JL, it appears that when I click the required disk in Safely Remove Hardware and reopen the SRH icon, the Disk in question is no longer showing as installed. Before error started a caption displayed it was safe to remove. According to other checking it appears rundll32.exe Shell32.dll Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll are not installed or available. I had also to reinstall Malwarebytes and Realtek as both ceased to work. Two Restore to an earlier date had no effect in solving this.

Bobby, it sounds like you have a corrupted OS. What I suggest you do is Disable all 3rd. party programs and software. (these can be enabled after the Reset)
Include 3rd. party Antivirus (if installed). Then carry out a Reset.
Start > Settings > Update and Security > Recovery > Reset this PC.
The other option is to run sfc /scannow to see if there are Files that can be replaced.

RL, you are absolutely correct in what you say, in fact MS Chat line has pointed out that my OS installed is corrupted. sfc /scannow shows up no errors or corrupt files. You may remember sometime ago, of my difficulties with Bezel LED light control - after many months it righted itself and LED went off after a few seconds after bootup, unfortunately, at the same time as the Remove now error the LED Control has reverted back to manual control. Thanks for your help, Bobby.

Bobby, I've re-read your Post #18 and I'm wondering whether the HP software program for the LED lighting may have something to do with your continual and ongoing problems.
Why not Delete the software (you can get it from HP later) to test whether your comp runs OK without it?
Many other HP Omen users were having problems with the software if my memory serves me correctly.
You should be able to locate the HP software in Control Panel > Programs and Features.

RL, your are again absolutely correct regarding HP Lighting software, the trouble started from the time computer was taken for the first time out of its box, error still remains to this day. No solution has ever been found. Without software installed, the lights remain on until computer is switched off. Or, drastic procedure is carried out by cutting the power feed to the LEDs. At present my only solution found, is by manually clicking HP Phoenix Control icon and click the X top right corner and this extinguishes the LEDs lighting. Only this procedure is required at each new power up of computer.
