"Sodding video out" is what I would call it  I have tried several times to connect my laptop dvd up to my television, with little luck. I'll take you through the procedure if I may  Firstly I go into bios and change my display settings to PAL. Done that! Secondly in windows display properties/advanced settings I change that to TV. I then have to re-start the computer, and at this stage everything seems to be working great. Laptop screen starts with the usual bios business at the beginning then the w98 screen comes on the telly :) Then after that windows continues to load until just before the desktop screen comes on. The egg timer comes on for a second then the computer freezes  I can reststart in safe mode and have started the pc in diagnostic mode which worked but my graphics drivers were absent. Overall I think the graphics drivers are the problem but I havn't got a clue what to do next. Any ideas:confused: Cheers:)

Have you tried different resolution settings? Might try starting at 640x480, 256 colors and work up from there.

You need to leave it at NTSC! I hooked my computer up to my TV with the S-Video and left it at NTSC and it works fine.
