I recently got a new computer--with windows XP as the OS. When I downloaded Netscape 7, the browser worked well for a couple days. One day when starting up the computer and trying to get in to Netscape I got a "Runtime error" and it also said something about a "pure function call ". How should I fix this problem?

I have never come accross this. But searching the internet it appears that it is a programming error.

It appears that the error occurs in programs written in Visual C++, and is usually caused by an error specific to that program i.e. it is nothing to do with Windows at all.

Can you give us any further details of the error message you are receiving so that someone may be able to point you towards a solution.

At this stage I have no clue of the answer other than from what I have read above. But some of the other solutions have been found when the error mesage has pointed to a DLL or similar and that has been replaced.
