Hello all. I have been trying to fix this problem for my wife and can't seem to get anywhere on it. I've looked up and tried several solutions I found on the net, but nothing has worked so far.

Here is what I'm getting for the error

    Runtime Error
    Program Files\Kodak\Kodak Easyshare software\bin\easyshare.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I ran HijackThis and I'm hoping maybe one of you will see something in it I missed or that can be deleted:

Andrewjomega - Welcome to the Board :)

There is nothing of concern in your HJT log, but this line may be significant ....

    O3 - Toolbar: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)

Some hits on Google refer to the Yahoo or Google toolbars as the source of the Runtime problem.

    Siggested plan of action ....

Uninstall the Yahoo toolbar - if it exists - your HJT log suggestd that it does not, but there is a reference to it in the registry.

Scan again with HJT and place a checkmark against this entry and click on Fix Selected ....

    O3 - Toolbar: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)

Reboot and try EasyShare. Let us know what happens :)

Ok, I removed Yahoo and the runtime error is still present.

This is the sort of error that is very difficult to pin down ....

I suggest you either uninstall Kodak EasyShare, reboot and re-install - you might check that you have the latest version .....

    http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn026079.jhtml?pq-path=2/3/10/5224

    or use their support.

    This article ....

You receive a "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" error message when you run a custom Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 program in Windows XP

suggests a problem with the installed version of Msvcirt.dll

Alterntively it may be a problem with .Net, another with Bluetooth and so on. No definitive answer I'm afraid :(

Their are numerous solutions to share digital photography on the web. Just as many sources for providing good quality prints which can be mailed directly to family and friends. Many of the above services do not require any software to be installed. Just a suggestion, but if Kodak EasyShare proves to be problematic, you do have many other choices.
