    Hi Gasolene,

    So far, this is all I've been able to find on the error:

    I recently upgraded my Netscape 6.2 to Netscape 7.0

    Whenever I try to start Netscape 7.0, its logo shows up BUT I get the
    following error message:

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape 6\Netscp.exe
    R6025
    pure virtual function call

    How do I fix this??
    ---

    Get the Mozilla source code.

    While it remains broken
    Build it in debug mode;
    Trace it in the debugger;
    Find the fault;
    Change the code;
    Re-test.

    The Mozilla source code can be found via: http://www.mozilla.org/source.html

    If it doesn't cover Netscape 7.0 functionality, modify it until it does.

    i found this Microsoft info:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q125749&
    and:
    " r6025 may occur if you have moved your data directory from the default "
    and Microsoft, too:
    "pure virtual function call

    No object has been instantiated to handle the pure virtual function call.

    This error is caused by calling a virtual function in an abstract base class through a pointer which is created by a cast to the type of the derived class, but is actually a pointer to the base class. This can occur when casting from a void* to a pointer to a class when the void* was created during the construction of the base class. "
    this may be a hit and your solution:
    " Hi everyone! I hope a lot of you read my message as It can help many people. Getting this error message is a programming error in Windows and cannot be repaired really but there is a way of arranging it so it doesn't cause problems anymore.

    Go to Control Panel then System, in the system properties, click on the performance tab, click on Virtual Memory, click on : let me specify my own virtual memory settings, then click the " disable virtual memory (not recommanded). It is not recommanded but that's what you must do. You must restart your computer and do the same process but this time re-activate the virtual memory settings to its original position and re-boot once again!

    This should solve most problems, but don't forget to re-activate your virtual memory otherwise your computer will be extremly slow... "

    Gasolene,

    Have you made any progress in resolving this problem?

    I get exactly the same error after installing NS7 over 6.2.3 under win 98SE. I'm a C++ programmer, so I understand the error - but that doesn't help in figuring out what's triggering it after a basic full installation with no problems occuring???

    I'm baffled...
    Dave
